Last month, Live Endless had the privilege of photographing an event at the Loews Hotel for Kate's Club, a non-profit organization in Atlanta, GA that helps children and teens establish healthy support systems and develop the necessary skills to cope effectively with grief.
At just 12 years old, founder Kate Atwood lost her own mother to cancer. Based on her childhood experience, she was inspired to help other children unite with their peers who shared a similar loss experience so they would know they are not alone in their grieving. Kate’s Club started in June 2003 with only six children, their families and an outing to a local bowling alley. Now 14 years later, they have touched the lives of more than 1,500 children and their families.
At this year's gala event, thanks to the supporters, sponsors, volunteers, and donors in attendance, over $310,000 was raised to continue the growth of programs that provide social, recreational and emotional support to the children of Kate’s Club.
